Set netting at Kasilof

A flounder found alive in the net.  After getting to check him out we threw him back.
Getting to the sandy beach near the mouth of the Kasilof River.
Here are the nets that are set at low tide, to be checked either by boat of from the shore.  We got to borrow some nets and work with some friends from their boat.
Vacuum packed about 30 packages of red salmon!
Strange catch.
Fisherman for the weekend.
Setting up the tent he bought himself at a garage sale this summer.
Pulling in the nets to check them for fish.
Net laid out at low tide.
Nets to be checked from the shore are stacked out on one end during the low tide.
Lessons in filleting a fish.
More filleting practice.
Sunset at 11:30 pm
What a great time fishing and camping this weekend.

Hatcher Pass on Father's Day

Doing a little summer-time learning!
Meet a guy doing some panning for GOLD.  It can be pretty involved...and interesting!
Beautiful hiking area...beautiful family.  What a double blessing from the Lord.
Gotta get the gold flakes off the bottom and out of the muck and mire.
Thanks for being such a GREAT Dad!
And husband.

Jim Lake & Jim Creek

Trying out a kayak!  He can really go.
Jim Lake is not far from our house, maybe 20minutes.  It is so beautiful.
They took to the kayaks like fish.
Mom rode in the boat with the motor.  Nice ride.
Not afraid to paddle her own boat!
